Hi! My name is Markus Heidarsson.

I welcome you to Heidarsson Guitars - your one stop shop in all things guitar service, repair and improvements located in Gothenburg, Sweden.

A guitarist since 2001 I soon saw the gap between a guitarist’s needs and the help available and decided to try to bridge that gap. I have in these past twenty or so years come up from humble beginnings of requiring help restringing my first guitar to being able to skillfully handle all aspects of guitar care and maintenance.

What at first seemed insurmountable has turned into my passion and every job a welcome and pleasing challenge - fretwork, finish work, electronics and so much more! With my trained eye I’m able to analyze all the factors that influence how your guitar plays, feels and sounds - from material to electronics.

My goal is to make each guitar I work on its owners new favorite, even if it used to be their last choice!

The best your guitar can be

I come from a background of being a DIY guy in a DIY scene. By diving headlong into the challenge of getting different guitars, basses, pedal boards, PA systems and studio setups to work as well as possible I have gained a good understanding of the mechanics, electronics and acoustics of most areas of music. That said, guitar work is where I, as well as the guitars, shine. Most likely you have done as much as you can yourself, too. I’m here to help out and get to the bottom of the issues you haven’t solved yet.

With my trained eye I’ll be able to analyze all the factors that influence how your instrument plays, feels and sounds. Minute changes can make a world of difference. Building on knowledge from my own experiences as well as from luthiers who share their decades of insights, any issue and obstacle are welcome challenges.

I have a special affinity for modern guitars used for heavy and progressive styles of music - death metal, djent and the like! Floating bridge systems, multiscale, extended range and Evertune are in my wheelhouse. I always take into account your playing style and your intended use - are you heading out on the road or going into the studio? As a returning customer you will also have the advantage of me having narrowed down what works for you - when it’s time for another guitar to become your new favourite!

I take immense joy in seeing the instruments I’ve fixed being put to use - on stage, in the studio, on tour and at home. When you receive it back you should be able to feel that it is fully reliable, responsive, well sounding and ready to serve as your musical voice.
